Born in 1957 in Paphos, Cyprus he completed his primary and secondary education there. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1979. After practising as a lawyer for 6 years, he was appointed a District Court Judge in 1988. He was promoted to the position of Senior Judge in 1999 and to District Court President in 2006. Within this period, he sat as member and as President of various District Courts and the Assize Court. He was appointed a Supreme Court Judge in 2012 and is currently a member of the High Administrative Court. He is a member of the Supreme Council of Judicature and the Senior Electoral Council.
