Fatma Şenol Bedevi
Supreme Court Judge
Born on 21.06.1980 in Nicosia, Fatma Şenol Bedevi, who was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court as of 2 August 2024, graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Kent in England in 2001 and after completing her internship, she registered as a lawyer on 13.5.2003.
In 2003, she served as a lawyer in the committees formed for the preparation of Federal Laws during the Annan Plan negotiations. Since 2004, she received training on European Law at the Academy of European Law in Trier, Germany. In 2005, she carried out studies and examinations on Competition Law in Latvia. In 2006, with the Fulbright Scholarship, she conducted research and studies on Criminal Law and Juvenile Delinquents in New York and Washington DC. Since 2008, she has been a member of the International Association of Women Judges, which has members from 143 countries, and represented the TRNC at the International Conference of the Association held in Panama in 2008. In 2013, she participated in the trainings on Competition Law in Italy organized by the European Union for judges.
She was appointed as a District Court Judge on 4 January 2007, a Senior District Court Judge on 12 November 2012, a President to District Court on 5 April 2016. She served in District Courts of Nicosia, Kyrenia, Morphou and Trikomo, Assize Courts of Nicosia, Kyrenia and Famagusta and finally in the District Court of Kyrenia.
Fatma Şenol Bedevi is married and has a child. She speaks English as a foreign language.
